Fishing Information - Loch St Johns

Season: 1st April - 30th September - Sunday Fishing Available. Loch St Johns
Method: Fly Fishing Only
Costs: £40 day per boat (2 anglers), £40 per day for outboard engine.
Popular patterns: Golden Olive Bumble, Red-Arsed Green Peter, French Partridge Mayfly. Lough Arrow Mayfly, Sooty Olive & Connemera Black.
Loch Information: St. Johns loch is situated just outside Dunnet, a small village about 6 miles East of Thurso. It is a reasonably small loch, about half a mile by half a mile. In June there is also a prolific Mayfly hatch. The trout average just over a pound, although 3-4lb fish are also recorded every year. St. Johns Association are made up of local fisherman who also run a local hatchery, ensuring that a good level of stocked fish is maintained year after year.
